GAZE is an ongoing project undertaken in collaboration with arts funded photographer, Susana de Dios, that seeks to showcase the wide spectrum of gender identity. This began as a portrait-based photography exhibition and has developed into the production of a zine penned by the subjects of the exhibition. This has also evolved into the founding of a collective for transgender and non-binary individuals as a means of coming together and collaborating with one another.
For GAZE I played a more central role, not only acting as a PR consultant but also as curator and facilitator of the project. I was also granted the opportunity to cast for the shoots, identifying the best suited participants that truly represented what we sought to achieve. The curation phase was carried out over a period of six months, with volunteers coming from far and wide to be a part of the monumental project. We have also been privileged enough to have already exhibited at the New Art Exchange in Nottingham, and we are looking forward to showcasing the exhibit in London, Manchester, and Bristol.
